Kidderminster charity benefits from kind-hearted donation

  • Posted

A Wyre Forest law firm has donated over £500 to a much-loved local hospice as part of its ongoing fundraising efforts.

Staff at Kidderminster’s mfg Solicitors held events throughout the past 12 months for KEMP Hospice, who offer care and support to patients and families dealing with life-limiting illnesses and bereavement.

The law firm’s events, which included quiz contests, seasonal raffles and book and cake sales, were held at their Adam House headquarters on the town’s Birmingham Road.

Kirsten Bridgewater, partner and head of mfg’s CSR committee said: “Our generous staff in Kidderminster have made a great contribution to our fundraising efforts over the past year. They have held some brilliant events, had great fun, and importantly, that has helped to donate to such a worthy cause.

“It’s well-known how loved KEMP Hospice is across Wyre Forest for the amazing work they do and the support they give to hundreds of families. I hope our donation can help make a difference to the lives of people who rely on the charity.”

Cathy Sloan, Head of Fundraising at KEMP Hospice added: “We’d like to give a huge heart-felt thank you to everyone at mfg Solicitors for their ongoing support and generosity over the past 12 months. Their fundraising is hugely vital if we are to keep delivering services and supporting families here in Wyre Forest. Together we care, we support, we fundraise and being helped by firms such as mfg Solicitors is a testament of local community partnership at its best.”

Ms Bridgewater added that mfg Solicitors will announce its chosen charities for 2019 in the coming weeks, following a staff vote.

Based on Kidderminster’s Mason Road, KEMP Hospice provides a major support system for the local community, offering care and support to patients and their families. Readers can visit www.kemphospice.org.uk for more information.

Staff at mfg in Kidderminster will continue to hold a variety of fundraising events throughout 2018.
