Midlands law firm MFG Solicitors (MFG) has announced a series of promotions with the appointments of two new partners and an associate.
Telford-based Tom Devey has been promoted to partner within the firm’s Rural and Agricultural Division. A farm and landed estate specialist, Tom joined the firm in 2002 and advises clients on intricate rural and agricultural matters such as Single Farm Payments, land sales and acquisitions, field sports and large-scale Land Registry applications. Tom also acts as legal advisor to Shropshire’s revered Fordhall Community Land Initiative.
The Corporate Division’s Alex Hall has also been promoted to partner. Based in Kidderminster, Alex joined MFG in 2007 and specialises in corporate, commercial and charity law. During his four years with the firm, Alex, a former police officer, has developed a widely-admired niche practice acting for dental practices, doctors surgeries and other healthcare businesses.
Also promoted is Kidderminster-based Helen Branson who is now an associate. A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Helen has been with MFG since 2003 and is currently the firm’s finance director.
Chairman at MFG Solicitors, Maynard Burton said: “Tom and Alex have all the qualities the modern legal partner must have and both have made a significant contribution to the growth of the firm. They are both talented and respected and I have no doubt their hard work and first-rate reputations will benefit our firm as we move forward into an exciting future.
“Helen, meanwhile, is held in extremely high regard within MFG and I’m positive she will continue to make an impact. She has an immense knowledge of accounting practises which not only continues to benefit the firm internally, but will now assist our clients on a far broader level.”
Mr Burton added: “These are three high calibre appointments and add even more depth to the talent we have here at MFG. Their well-deserved promotions help illustrate the brilliant team behind the firm’s ongoing success.”
