Record number of lawyers at mfg Solicitors make elite legal list

  • Posted

A record 36 solicitors from a Midlands law firm have been named among the most outstanding in their field by a respected industry guide .

Expert lawyers from mfg Solicitors are named in the 2017 Legal 500 – the profession’s prestigious referral guide – with one specialist team named in the elite top tier.

The firm’s presence in the guide has grown steadily in the past two years but the 30th edition has an unprecedented number from mfg recognised as being among the best in the country.

Singled out for special recognition are the Kidderminster-based Contentious Trusts and Probate team which has won coveted Tier One status as the region’s best. The department, led by respected lawyers Robert Weston, Suzanne Lee and Andrew Chandler, represents individuals in complicated wills and inheritance-related cases across the UK.

Also highly recommended are the teams advising on corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, family, tax, commercial property, agriculture and rural affairs, real estate and employment.

Tom Esler, partner at mfg Solicitors said: “The Legal 500 is one of the most respected, independent rankings of lawyers across the world so to have so many of our colleagues named is outstanding.

“Every single one of those listed deserves that recognition following years of hard work. They really are the best in the business and provide first-rate advice and service to our clients every single day.

“I must single out Robert Weston and the Contentious Trusts and Probate team for their outstanding track record in winning numerous court cases, including complex disputes that have gone to the High Court. They are absolutely deserving of Tier One status and their reputation as one of the UK’s leading legal teams.

“I am also delighted to see our corporate, commercial property, real estate and tax teams achieve deserved recognition for the first time in the guide.”

The citations from clients, who gave feedback for the guide, included how lawyers went “above and beyond” what was necessary and how they showed “absolutely outstanding commitment to service”.

More than 250,000 people were interviewed across the world during the past 12 months to produce the 2017 Legal 500. Firms and lawyers are recommended purely on merit.
