A Birmingham law firm has thrown its support behind a local children’s charity as staff aim to raise thousands of pounds over the next 12 months.
The team of solicitors and support staff from legal firm mfg Solicitors have chosen to get behind Sutton Coldfield-founded charity, The Buddy Bag Foundation, after hearing about the extraordinary work they do to support children facing a crisis.
Chris Piggott, partner at mfg Solicitors said: “the team at Buddy Bag do such an incredible job to support hundreds of children in and around Birmingham every year - providing them with everyday essentials such as toiletries, pyjamas, socks and underwear, in addition to comforting items such as a book or a teddy bear.”
“Not only have we set ourselves a financial target for our fundraising efforts, but we’re conscious that giving our time is just as important and we are keen to be involved with the charity through volunteering, including helping with the packing of the essential buddy bags being sent to local children.”
“We will be fundraising throughout the year by running a number of events including dress down days, raffles and quizzes. It’s a charity that has an immediate impact in our region, and we’re delighted to be involved.”
Karen Williams OBE who founded The Buddy Bag Foundation said: “we are so grateful to Chris and the team at mfg Solicitors for supporting us with fundraising. We are all volunteers so it’s going to help so much, especially at a time when all charities are under such financial pressure.”
Ms Williams founded the charity in 2014 in response to the rising number of children who enter emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home.
