It has just been announced that the Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Act 2023 will now not come into force. It was anticipated that it would come into force in or around September 2024 but it now appears that the Labour Government have elected to proceed with new legislation rather than implementing the Act which was to be introduced by the previous Government.
It remains the case however that Labour are committed to banning Zero Hours Contracts and to bring into force legislation that will provide workers with the right to a contract that reflects regularly worked hours.
We will provide further updates in due course.
